Jeff Flake Being Bashed For Integrity

It is truly a sad day when a candidate gets elected to Congress on the premise that he or she wants to hold the line on government waste and spending and then, when he or she keeps that promise, gets whacked for it.
Such is the case with Congressman Jeff Flake. He was elected by his constituents to go to Washington and do what he promised to do. That promise was to do his very best to hold down government spending. And he stuck to his promise.
He also promised to try to do something about the problem of illegal immigration. He fulfilled that promise, too (although it has caused him grief to do so). Congressman Flake had the courage to face the issue and bring it forth for discussion and possible solutions.
So what happened? He gets whacked again! This time by an opponent who keeps yelling that Flake's guest-worker program is an amnesty program. That accusation is just plain false and can be chalked up to desperate campaign rhetoric.
Personally, I am one proud voter, who applauds Flake for his courage, his values and his integrity.
