Our 'Needles in the Haystack' Project
I'm overwhelmed by the response that Mary Katharine Ham and I are getting on our Needle in a Haystack project. Yesterday, the two of us set out to find, with the help of thousands of blog readers, the most conservative editorial pages in the country, state by state. You can find our growing list of newspapers here. Mary Katharine wrote earlier today that a reporter from the Savannah Morning News contacted her, making sure she was aware of the newspaper's strong limited government views. I, myself, established an email exchange with a journalist who wished to remain anonymous, but who gave me the lowdown on a ton of newspapers in the West (he's no doubt worried about recrimination from his more liberal colleagues, I'm sure). Plus, we're still getting readers from all over the country who continue to send us their suggestions. And the best part -- the very best part -- is that we get to send a ton of traffic to those "needle" newspapers that are buried in liberal "haystacks". Like the Westbury Republican-American in Connecticut. However, there are still plenty of states that aren't represented on our list yet. If you know of one, send us your suggestion!
