President Bush Signs Coburn Bill

I went to the White House today to witness the President sign the Coburn transparency bill into law. Here's a video of the event which includes a transcript of Bush's comments.

Here's the statement released by Senators Tom Coburn and Barack Obama following the ceremony:

"This legislation marks a small but important step in the effort to change the culture in Washington, D.C. American taxpayers soon will be equipped with a significant tool that will make it much easier to hold elected officials accountable for the way taxpayer money is spent. The army of bloggers, editorialists and concerned citizens who worked diligently to see this bill pass deserve all the credit and praise today," the senators said.

Below is all the coverage that I could find, chock full of picture-goodness, from my fellow bloggers -- the aforementioned "army" -- who also attended. It was fun to see all of them and to celebrate the passage of this bill. No doubt, the journey was as fun as the end result. I look forward to working with them again.
