The Wall Street Journal's Washington Wire just published this very insightful blurb. Key excerpt:
Chief executives from some of the largest financial service institutions peg “protectionism” as the single biggest threat to continued U.S. economic growth, and they also rank the regulatory environment as a top concern.
[...] Not surprisingly, the CEOs don’t share the concerns of many Democrats in Washington when it comes to China. A majority said they see China as an opportunity for U.S. business, while none labeled it as a threat. The CEOs also predicted that China will fuel global economic growth, with the U.S. just behind the Asian giant.
Yesterday, a friend helped remind me of a quote by Frederic Bastiat that I've always like. He said, "If goods don't cross borders, armies will."
