Be a Star in the Club's New Video!
Here's an email that we just sent out to all Club members. If you're a member and you didn't get it, please read!
Dear Club member,
We have a fun project for you!
People who are opposed to the Club for Growth like to label us as an evil special interest group. They think we're a shadowy organization that operates in support of greedy "fat cats" who only exploit other people in order to enrich themselves.
Obviously, nothing could be further from the truth. We know that Club members come from every walk of life, have wide-ranging income levels and occupations, and are simply honest, hard-working people who want limited government and lower taxes because they know that's the perfect recipe for economic freedom and prosperity.
We want to tell people that story. We want people to know what it's like to be a member of the Club for Growth. And that's where you come in.
Our goal is for Club members to videotape themselves telling us who they are and why they are a member of the Club. Our hope is that we receive enough videos for us to compile all of them into one, longer video for the public to watch on our website.
Sounds like fun, right?
In the video, if you decide to do it, please be sure to tell us who you are, where you live (city, state), what you do for a living, and why you are a member of the Club for Growth (all of this is important to include!). Feel free to include your family and/or friends who are also members. Have fun with this. We want your video to tell your story. We want it to be about you. Pick a fun location, give your kids a speaking role, include your pets, or tell us a personal story about how you've succeeded thanks to the free market (needless to say, please keep it honest, clean, and polite).
As for technical matters, be sure the lighting is strong and to speak clearly and close to the camera.
Once you're done, please email your video clip to Andy Roth at aroth@clubforgrowth.org. If the file size is too large to email, please send us a DVD at the address below or call us and we can give you instructions on how to deliver it via the Internet. If you're an Apple computer user, you're probably already aware of the camera embedded in the monitor. Use that if you don't have a handheld camera!
You can put the video in any format that you like, but QuickTime (.mov) or Digital Video (.dv) is preferable.
If you're not computer-savvy, have one of your smart kids, grandchildren, or friends do it for you.
Please send us your video by May 15 and be sure to make a copy for yourself. And while our intention is to include everyone in this project, we reserve the right not to use all of the videos that we receive.
Again, we think there's a great story to tell here. Club members are the reason why the Club for Growth is so successful. And we want to broadcast that success by showcasing the people who have made it possible. So go make that video and send it to us as soon as you can!
