Club for Growth PAC Response to Young Complaint
Washington – In response to Don Young’s recent FEC complaint, Club for Growth Executive Director David Keating issued the following statement:
“After spending over $1 million dollars of his contributors’ money to defend himself in a set of criminal corruption investigations, Don Young still doesn't seem to understand the law. The fact is the ad that bothers Don Young is funded by a political action committee, was fully disclosed to the FEC as an independent expenditure, and is entirely proper. We can state with certainty that we have done nothing wrong and the ad is perfectly legal. Conversely, when a local paper asked Don Young if he can at least say he has done nothing wrong with respect to those criminal investigations, Young refused to comment."
“Furthermore, Don Young gets 75% of his donations from outside Alaska. He really shouldn’t be pointing fingers when he gets more money from Louisiana and Puerto Rico than he does from Alaskans.”
