Groups Urge Boehner to Support Flake for Approps
Club for Growth Releases Coalition Letter to Minority Leader Boehner, Urges Boehner to Appoint Flake to Approps
Washington - Today, the Club for Growth released a coalition letter signed by seven conservative, limited-government groups, representing hundreds of thousands of grassroots conservatives, urging Minority Leader John Boehner to come out in support of appointing Rep. Jeff Flake (AZ-06) to the House Appropriations Committee.
The letter was organized by the Club for Growth and signed by the Club's President Pat Toomey; RedState.Com Editor Erick Erickson; Young Americans for Liberty Executive Director Jeff Frazee; FreedomWorks President and CEO Matt Kibbe; National Taxpayers Union President Duane Parde; Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips; and Council for Citizens Against Government Waste President Tom Schatz.
"Appointing Rep. Flake to the Appropriations Committee will send a signal that the Republican Party is serious about returning to its limited government roots," said Club for Growth President Pat Toomey. "Over the years, Jeff Flake has been one of the most committed leaders of earmark reform and fiscal conservatism. With a seat on the Appropriations Committee, he will be able to shine a bright light on the earmarking process and make sure taxpayers have a voice at the table. Leader Boehner can make the difference in this important fight for conservative principles."
