“If people want go-along, get-along politics, I am not their guy,” said Bill Sali earlier this year. Sali, a state representative, made that comment while fighting the GOP establishment on a bill that included a tax increase. Congress, of course, has gone-along and got-along at our expense, with an orgy of new spending over the last few years. Sali won’t join in on the tax and spending party on Capitol Hill if he wins in November.
As you recall, the Club’s PAC backed him in his victorious, but contentious, six-way primary back in May, a race that emptied his campaign account. In contrast, Bill’s new Democratic opponent had a minor opponent in his primary election. We want to help Bill win a big victory in November, so let’s be sure he has enough to win handily.
