“This blueprint begins the much-needed work of making major cuts in agencies like the EPA, and ending the waste of taxpayer dollars that are being poured into things like federally-funded TV and radio.”
Washington, DC – Club for Growth president David McIntosh released the following statement in response to the Trump Administration’s release of its budget blueprint:
“That sound you hear from Washington, DC this morning is the weeping and gnashing of teeth from bureaucrats and politicians who have built the federal government into an industry on the backs of taxpayers,” said Club for Growth president David McIntosh. “The Trump Administration’s budget blueprint begins the much-needed work of making major cuts in agencies like the EPA, and ending the waste of taxpayer dollars that are being poured into things like federally-funded TV and radio. President Trump and OBM Director Mick Mulvaney are showing the political will to take the axe to many bloated and unnecessary programs. We hope Congress will follow suit, and that this is just the start of an ongoing effort to truly cut the size and scope of the federal government.”

“Republicans must immediately repeal Obamacare’s taxes, end the Medicaid expansion, and include interstate competition.”
Washington, DC – Club for Growth president David McIntosh released the following statement in response to the American Health Care Act released by House Republicans:
“The problems with this bill are not just what’s in it, but also what’s missing: namely, the critical free-market solution of selling health insurance across state lines,” said Club for Growth president David McIntosh. “Such an injection of competition would lead to hundreds of billions of dollars in savings, nullifying any argument by Congressional Republicans that this provision cannot be included in the current bill. If this warmed-over substitute for government-run health care remains unchanged, the Club for Growth will key vote against it. Republicans should be offering a full and immediate repeal of Obamacare’s taxes, regulations, and mandates, an end to the Medicaid expansion, and inclusion of free-market reforms, like interstate competition.”

“The Obamacare repeal that passed Congress in 2015 must be the starting point for any repeal.”
Washington, DC – Club for Growth president David McIntosh released the following statement in support of conservatives in Congress who say they would reject a GOP Obamacare replacement proposal that was recently leaked:
“Speaker Ryan and Leader McConnell need to stand up to those in the Republican party who are fighting to retain and repair Obamacare, rather than repeal and replace it with free-market health care,” said Club for Growth president David McIntosh. “The Club for Growth stands with conservatives in the Senate and House – including Chairman Mike Lee of the Senate Steering Committee, Chairman Mark Meadows of the House Freedom Caucus, and Chairman Mark Walker of the Republican Study Committee – to urge that the starting point for any repeal be the Obamacare repeal which was passed in Congress in 2015. In addition, replacement legislation must include the kind of free-market initiatives that we’ve seen in bills like the one introduced by Senator Rand Paul and Representative Mark Sanford. Expanding Health Savings Accounts, restoring customer choice to the types of coverage available, creating interstate markets, and letting individuals and small businesses band together to buy coverage, are all key tenets of health care reform that Republicans ran on in 2016, and should fight for today. To do anything less will not lower costs or expand choice, and will leave the Republican party’s majority in jeopardy in 2018.”

“Congresswoman Noem’s constituents need to know if she will fight for them and oppose the BAT.”
Washington, DC – Club for Growth president David McIntosh released the following statement about a new Club for Growth TV and digital ad campaign that urges Congresswoman Kristi Noem (SD-AL) to oppose the Border Adjustment provision in the tax reform proposal put forth by House Republicans:
“The Border Adjustment Tax will drive up prices on everyday consumer goods like groceries, gas, clothes and shoes,” said Club for Growth president David McIntosh. “House Republicans have offered good tax reform proposals, like lowering rates, repealing the Death Tax, and cleaning up the tax code, but the Border Adjustment Tax will hurt American families. Congresswoman Noem has a key position in Congress on tax policy and her constituents need to know if she will fight for them and oppose the BAT.”
The Club’s new ad can be seen here and will begin broadcasting statewide in South Dakota on February 22, with an ad buy of more than $150,000 for TV and digital outlets.
It is expected to be the first of a series of ads that the Club for Growth will air on the BAT tax in states and districts across the country.
