Club for Growth Action on Trump’s Fall in Iowa: We Told You So

  |

Washington, DC – Club for Growth Action, a political arm of the Club for Growth, released the following statement in response to the latest poll showing Donald Trump falling behind in Iowa:

“Two days, and two more polls with the same message that Club for Growth Action reported on October 6: Donald Trump lost his lead in Iowa,” said Club for Growth President David McIntosh. “CFG Action ran $1 million of television ads in Iowa exposing Donald Trump’s extremely liberal positions on taxes, health care, bailouts, and property rights, and the polls have made it clear: Trump loses when voters know the truth about him. He’s not a conservative, and he’s really just the worst kind of politician.”

Note: The two recent polls that confirmed the findings of the Club for Growth Action poll are the Quinnipiac poll, and the Bloomberg/Des Moines Register poll. The Club for Growth Action poll of likely Iowa Republican caucus voters, taken on October 3-4, found Trump, at 16%, trailing Ben Carson (21%) and Undecided (18%).
