Rep. David Jolly defeats effort to block U.S. tax dollars from subsidizing terrorist countries

Washington, DC – The Club for Growth released the following statement after the House of Representatives defeated an amendment that would have prevented a revived Export-Import Bank from lending money to any entity based in a country that’s been designated as a state sponsor of terrorism:

“This amendment failed because of congressmen like David Jolly (FL-13), who support corporate welfare over our country’s national security interests,” said Club for Growth President David McIntosh. “It would have prevented Ex-Im Bank from lending money to companies located in countries like Iran, that are designated as state sponsors of terrorism.”

The Club for Growth is the nation’s leading group promoting economic freedom through legislative involvement, issue advocacy, research, and education.
