Conservative Review: Davidson Receives Support From Conservative Groups

  |

Two major conservative political advocacy groups have endorsed businessman and veteran Warren Davidson in the race to fill former Speaker of the House John Boehner’s vacant congressional seat.

Club for Growth Action, the political arm of the conservative advocacy group Club for Growth, has released the following ad for Davidson:

“Ohio’s 8th Congressional District doesn’t need another career politician,” said Club for Growth president David McIntosh in an emailed press release:

“Warren Davidson is a successful businessman and he’s not a political insider. Davidson has a resolute commitment to conservative economic policy, and Club for Growth Action is placing this ad to begin telling Davidson’s story of job creation and achievement.”

The businessman has also won the endorsement of the Senate Conservatives Fund. “Warren Davidson is a strong conservative who will fight for our values and protect the Constitution,” said SCF President Ken Cuccinelli in their emailed press release.

“This congressional seat was formerly occupied by an establishment Republican who supported the Democrats’ agenda. Voters in Ohio deserve better and now they have a chance to elect someone who will fight for their values. We’re very proud to support Warren Davidson for Congress and we’re excited to do our part to help him win this important race.”

Davidson is one of 15 announced Republican candidates for congress in the 8th congressional district. According to FEC documents, Davidson ended 2015 with $137,823 cash on hand. The establishment candidate, Ohio state senator Bill Beagle, currently holds $203,427 cash on hand. Representative Jim Jordan R-OH, (Liberty Score® – A), chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, said of Davidson: “This is the kind of guy we need in Washington. He’s going to come in there and stand firm. To me, that’s the most important thing.”

Warren Davidson was born and raised in Ohio. He enlisted in the Army after High School and Graduated from West Point at the top of his class. He enlisted and served as an Army officer with the Old Guard, the 75th Ranger Regiment, and the 101st Airborne Division.

Davidson returned to Ohio in 2000 to work for his family’s manufacturing business, now employs over 200 people.

He has been happily married to his wife, Lisa, for 20 years, and they are proud parents of two teenage children.

The special election primary will be held on March 15th, 2016.
