Biography

Tommy Tuberville is a candidate in the 2020 United States Senate election in Alabama. Tuberville is a former college football coach, most notably for Auburn University, where he received the 2004 Walter Camp and Bear Bryant Coach of the Year awards.

Race Details

On July 14, Tuberville defeated former Senator and Attorney General Jeff Sessions by 20 points in the Alabama Senate Republican primary runoff. Tuberville will now face incumbent Democrat Senator Doug Jones in the General Election. In 2016, Donald Trump easily beat Hillary in Alabama by 62.1% to 34.4%, and the seat is an important pick-up opportunity for Republicans. The PVI is R+14.
