Club for Growth TV Ad Applauds Opposition to Ex-Im by Democrat Alan Grayson

  |

Washington, DC – The Club for Growth today announced the release of a TV ad urging Florida Democrats to support Representative Alan Grayson’s (FL-9) opposition to the Export-Import Bank, over Representative Patrick Murphy’s (FL-18) support for the bank and its corporate welfare. The ad will begin airingtomorrow statewide on MSNBC and other outlets in Florida, and it represents the third phase in an overall $1 million campaign, including digital advertising. The Club is also currently airing ads in the congressional districts of Representatives Bill Shuster (PA-9) and David McKinley (WV-1), on broadcast and cable TV in Johnstown, PA, Clarksburg, WV and Wheeling, WV.

“Congressional Democrats, like Patrick Murphy, are in virtual lockstep in their support for the big corporate special interests that gain taxpayer-provided financing from the Export-Import Bank,” said Club for Growth President David McIntosh. “Despite the hundreds of fraud claims against Ex-Im, and the 31 open fraud investigations involving the bank, Murphy still wants an expansion of Ex-Im. But, Alan Grayson has stood firm in the face of intense Democrat pressure for extending Ex-Im’s life. Even Hillary Clinton is pleading for Ex-Im’s reauthorization. That’s why The Club for Growth is urging Florida Democrats to get involved in the fight against cronyism and corruption by calling on their Democrat representatives to join Alan Grayson in opposing Ex-Im.”

The Club’s first round of Ex-Im ads began airing in April in the congressional districts of Representatives Bill Flores (TX-17), Renee Ellmers (NC-02), Stephen Fincher (TN-08) and Buddy Carter (GA-01). The second round of ads began airing May 22 in the congressional districts of Representatives Bill Shuster (PA-9) and David McKinley (WV-1). Ads were also planned to start on May 22 in the districts of Representatives Rob Bishop (UT-1) and Chris Stewart (UT-2), but were canceled after both came out with statements clearly opposing the bank’s reauthorization.

TWO FLORIDA DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS WITH VERY DIFFERENT VIEWS.

ALAN GRAYSON OPPOSES THE EXPORT-IMPORT BANK, WHICH SPENDS BILLIONS OF TAX DOLLARS ON A HANDFUL OF GIANT CORPORATIONS.

PATRICK MURPHY SUPPORTS THE EX-IM BANK, AND WANTS TO FUNNEL BILLIONS MORE TO CORPORATE FAT CATS.

CONGRESS WILL SOON VOTE.

TELL YOUR DEMOCRATIC MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TO SIDE WITH GRAYSON, NOT MURPHY, AND STOP THE EXPORT-IMPORT BANK’S OUTRAGEOUS  CORPORATE GIVEAWAYS.
