In the meantime, here is a summary of the earlier victories this cycle:
Super, Super Tuesday
Your Club for Growth PACs were engaged in 4 U.S House races and we were successful in 3 of those races. I’ve recapped those victories here as well as how two Democrat primaries shaped up that will be top priorities in November, but you can get a full summary on the blog here →
AL-01: Barry Moore
Due to a court-mandated redistricting, two sitting Republicans were pitted against each other in a nail-biter of a primary. Our affiliated PAC, School Freedom Fund, spent more than $800k in ads against his anti-freedom opponent, Jerry Carl. Carl was propped up by establishment PACs that spent over $1million against us. This election proves one thing: that every contribution counts as Moore pulled out a narrow three-point victory to unseat Carl and flip this seat from red to redder.
TX-26: Brandon Gill
One candidate stood out in a crowded field. Brandon Gill, an authentic conservative fighter, overcame a field of more than 10 liberal Republicans, winning over 58% of the vote. As a newcomer with millions of dollars of negative dark-money ads spent against him, Gill more than proved his mettle. He is now the presumptive congressman-elect and a conservative star in the making.
CA-47: Scott Baugh
Here’s the good news: radical leftist Katie Porter lost her Senate primary and can’t run for her House seat. That right there is a win for America.
The better news: Club-endorsed Scott Baugh led the field for Porter’s old House seat with 33% of the vote and Democrat Dave Min was 8 points behind him. It’s a prime opportunity for conservatives and could decide the fate of the House majority. Let’s make Orange County Red Again!
TX-Sen: Ted Cruz
It was never in doubt: With 88% of the vote, Ted Cruz is the resounding winner in the GOP Senate primary in Texas. Texans made a statement. They know and trust Ted Cruz. He’s a conservative, a fighter, and a thorn in the side of the establishment and radical liberals. He’ll face Democrat Colin Allred, who cleared the 50% necessary to avoid a runoff, in the general election. Democrats are dialed in and flooding this race with money–we’ll have Sen. Cruz’s back and we hope you’ll be with us holding the line until we see him through to victory in November.
Club for Growth Action came out of the gate Wednesday with a new ad and a promise of 8 figures behind it, supporting Cruz. Check out the Washinton Post’s coverage of the ad here →
Texas School Choice Crusade – A Great Night for Freedom
Super Tuesday was also a great day for school choice advocates and families in Texas. We’re proud to announce that our efforts paid off with SEVEN anti-school choice Republicans defeated and five heading to a runoff. This is a statement from Texans that they are tired of the education status quo and want students funded, not corrupt bureaucracies. But our work is far from over. The School Freedom Fund spent nearly $4 million on these primaries, and we need to continue this important work.
