Biography

Katherine Robertson is an eighth-generation Alabamian, attorney, wife, and mother. A graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law, Robertson previously served at the Department of Justice during the Bush Administration and on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee under then-Sen. Jeff Sessions.

Since joining the Alabama Attorney General’s Office in 2016, Robertson has become the longest-serving Chief Counsel in Alabama history. She has helped lead Alabama’s legal fights against Biden Administration overreach and defended free speech policies. Additionally, Robertson is a proud supporter of school choice.

Katherine Robertson finished first in the Republican primary on May 19, 2026 and advanced to the June 16, 2026 runoff election in Alabama’s open Attorney General race. Robertson, the longest-serving Chief Counsel in the history of the Alabama Attorney General’s Office, is running to succeed Attorney General Steve Marshall. President Trump carried Alabama 65% to 34% in 2024, making this a safe Republican office heading into the November 2026 general election.
