CFG PAC Updates - January 08th, 2018
Club for Growth PAC-endorsed candidate Josh Mandel announced he would be withdrawing his candidacy for U.S. Senate. His announcement came in conjunction with news that Josh’s wife, Ilana, has a health issue that will require his time and attention. As Josh explained in his statement, ‘Understanding and dealing with this health issue is more important to me than any political campaign.’
It’s with a heavy heart I share Josh’s news with you. The Club for Growth PAC supports Josh in his decision to do what’s best for his wife and his family.
Club for Growth is grateful for all Josh has done to promote fiscal responsibility and transparency in his service to Ohio, and we have no doubt he would have made a great senator. Josh is a conservative and a patriot. Our prayers are with him and his family during this difficult time.

Washington, DC – Today, the Club for Growth PAC announced its endorsement of Chip Roy for the U.S. House of Representatives. Chip Roy is running for the open seat currently held by Rep. Lamar Smith (TX-21), who is retiring from office.
“Club for Growth PAC is excited to announce our endorsement of Chip Roy for Congress,” stated Club for Growth PAC President David McIntosh. “Cut from the same cloth as Sens. Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, Chip is exactly the type of fiscal conservative Congress needs.”
“He has dedicated his career to upholding the law and constitutional principles of limited government. From his time fighting in the trenches to repeal Obamacare and cut federal spending, there’s no question about where Chip stands on the issues.
“While the Republican primary field may be a crowded one, there’s only one true conservative in this race – and that’s Chip Roy. Club for Growth PAC is all-in and looks forward to all the great conservative policies Chip will champion when he comes to serve Texas in Congress in 2019.”

Washington, DC – Today, the Club for Growth PACannounced its endorsement of former Idaho State Senator Russ Fulcher for the U.S. House of Representatives. Fulcher is running for the open seat being vacated by Congressman Raul Labrador (ID-01), who is running for governor.
“Club for Growth PAC is thrilled to announce support for Russ Fulcher and his campaign for Congress,” stated Club for Growth PAC President David McIntosh.
“Russ is a conservative hero in Idaho politics. While serving as a state senator, Fulcher led the fight against the implementation of the state’s Obamacare exchange. He also was a staunch opponent of Obamacare’s Medicaid expansion and led the effort to eliminate the state’s sales tax on groceries.
“Russ has demonstrated he’s not afraid to buck the party’s establishment and will tirelessly fight for conservative economic policies to strengthen our nation.”

Washington, DC – Today, Club for Growth President David McIntosh issued the following statement in response to Senator Jeff Flake’s (R-AZ) retirement announcement:
“Club for Growth commends Senator Jeff Flake for his many years of service in first the House of Representatives and most recently in the U.S. Senate.
“For over a decade, Club for Growth has had the privilege of calling Jeff a friend and has fought with him to promote economic freedom and prosperity. Senator Flake maintained a life-time average of 96 percent on Club for Growth’s scorecard – a distinction few have earned. A tried and true fiscal conservative, Jeff fought to eliminate earmarks before it was cool.
“Club for Growth is grateful for the commitment Senator Flake has made to fighting to bring fiscal sanity to Washington. We wish him the very best in his next endeavor.”
