Key Vote Alert – House – NO – Motion to Discharge HRes780

The Club for Growth urges all Representatives to vote NO on the Motion to Discharge H.Res.780. The results of this vote will be included in the Club for Growth Foundation’s 2026 congressional scorecard.

Some House Republicans made a big mistake in joining House Democrats on a discharge petition for H.Res.780. These Members may have thought they were simply moving forward with forcing a vote on extending the Biden-era COVID subsidies, which Club for Growth also opposes. But it’s even worse. H.Res.780 is a shell-bill that allows the Ranking Member of the House Rules Committee to insert any substitute language after the motion to discharge is agreed upon. In short, the House Democrats fooled some House Republicans into ceding control of the House Floor to the minority party. Club for Growth urges all Representatives to vote NO.
