Key Vote Alert – House – YES on H.J. Res. 27

  |

The Club for Growth urges all Representatives to vote YES on H.J. Res. 27, a resolution of disapproval on the Biden WOTUS Rule. This bill provides for Congressional disapproval under chapter 8, title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Department of the Army, Corps of Engineers, Department of Defense and the Environmental Protection Agency relating to “Revised Definition of ‘Waters of the United States.’” The results of this vote will be included in the Club for Growth Foundation’s 2023 congressional scorecard.

The Club for Growth supports Representative Grave’s (R-MO) resolution of disapproval to nullify the EPA’s WOTUS rule, which revises the definition of navigable waters and expands permitting requirements, harming farmers, small businesses, and private property owners.

The Biden Administration’s WOTUS rule creates an enormous amount of regulatory uncertainty that will create economic havoc in America – hurting the U.S. agricultural industry, ranchers, farmers, small businesses, and investors. Moreover, it will add additional threats to U.S. energy security at a time when the Biden Administration has already castrated energy independence and accommodated the highest level of inflation in over 40 years. Private property landowners do not need the EPA and that behemoth bureaucracy to stifle economic activity through the WOTUS rule and the regulatory authorities it enables. Club for Growth strongly encourages all Representatives to vote YES on the resolution of disapproval.

Club for Growth Foundation’s Congressional Scorecard for the 118th Congress provides a comprehensive rating of how well or how poorly each member of Congress supports pro-growth, free-market policies and will be distributed to the public.
