KEY VOTE ALERT

“NO” on Consolidated Appropriations Act, H.J. Res 31

The Club for Growth opposes the Consolidated Appropriations Act, H.J. Res. 31 and urges all Senators and Representatives to vote NO on it.  A vote is expected this afternoon in the Senate and this evening in the House.  The results of this vote will be included in the Club’s 2019 congressional scorecard.

The Consolidated Appropriations Act, a 1,169-page bill, provides for discretionary spending through the end of the fiscal year at a level that continues to put the federal government on track for another trillion-dollar deficit in FY2019. The legislation will be voted on less than 24 hours after being made available to Members of Congress and the public. Further, no amendments are expected to be considered.

This week, the National Debt surpassed $22 trillion. Federal lawmakers should have urgency about the levels of debt and deficits, and this spending bill does nothing to address the looming fiscal crisis.

Our Congressional Scorecard for the 116th Congress provides a comprehensive rating of how well or how poorly each member of Congress supports pro-growth, free-market policies and will be distributed to our members and to the public.
