Key Vote Alert – Senate – “YES” on Nomination of Russell Vought for Director of the Office of Management and Budget
The Club for Growth urges all Senators to vote YES on the nomination of Russell Vought to lead the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The results of this vote will be included in the Club for Growth Foundation’s 2025 congressional scorecard.
Throughout his distinguished career, Vought has been a consistent champion of limited government and economic freedom. Vought has dedicated his career to making government more efficient and improving the lives of all Americans by implementing policies that increase prosperity, while protecting the rights of the People. Having served as Director at OMB during President Trump’s first term, Vought has the experience and knowledge to implement the Trump agenda.
OMB is a critical executive agency with substantial authority over our nation’s fiscal and regulatory policies. Among other critical responsibilities, the OMB is responsible for the President’s annual budget submission to Congress, which is essential for advancing the President’s priorities and is responsible for oversight of federal agency funding to ensure efficiency and accountability with American tax dollars. Vought’s experience – particularly his previous work as OMB Director – makes him the ideal candidate to assume this role.
With our federal debt now exceeding $36 trillion, it is essential to have an OMB Director who understands that the status quo is unsustainable and unacceptable. Vought will ensure taxpayer dollars are not illegally used to fund the infrastructure of the left, and he will root out DEI and ESG schemes that have festered in the Federal Government for far too long. He will bring accountability back to the desks of the federal workforce ensuring that career federal workers adhere to the directives and responsibilities they are instructed to do.
Americans have suffered four years of economic malaise caused by bloated federal spending which resulted in the highest inflation in 40 years. The previous administration promulgated burdensome regulation that stifled innovation and awarded corruption over merit. The Socialist policies of the extreme far left were a scheme to control the American People. Senate confirmation of the Vought nomination will ensure the next four years are nothing like the past four years.
Club for Growth Foundation’s Congressional Scorecard for the 119th Congress provides a comprehensive rating of how well or how poorly each member of Congress supports pro-growth, free-market policies and will be distributed to the public.
