Key Vote Alert – YES on Cosponsorship of Graham/McConnell Resolution Related to the Impeachment Inquiry

Club for Growth supports the Graham/McConnell Resolution related to voting to open a formal impeachment inquiry and urges all Senators to cosponsor the resolution, S.Res.378.  Cosponsorship of the resolution will be included in the Club for Growth Foundation’s 2019 Congressional Scorecard.

Club for Growth believes the House of Representatives should vote on whether to initiate a formal impeachment inquiry. In all three previous cases investigating whether sufficient evidence exists to impeach a President, the full House voted on a resolution authorizing the House Judiciary Committee to determine whether to impeach the President. The precedents of impeachment are important to follow so that the American people have confidence that a fair and just process was followed.

President Trump deserves fundamental constitutional protections, including due process, the ability to confront his accusers, and he deserves to have a basic understanding of the accusations against him that would form any basis for impeachment.
