Key Vote Alert: “NO” ON SENATE VOTE TO CONSIDER & DEBATE ANY MOTION TO SUBPOENA WITNESSES OR DOCUMENTS

  |

Club for Growth opposes the Senate vote on whether it shall be in order to consider and debate under the impeachment rules any motion to subpoena witnesses or documents and urges Senators to vote no. The vote is expected to be considered soon in the Senate.  The result of the vote will be included in the Club for Growth Foundation’s 2020 Congressional Scorecard.

Elections have consequences. Sadly, President Trump’s opponents have never been willing to accept the results of the 2016 election and have engaged in an endless quest to destroy President Trump. Members of Congress have spent countless hours considering the facts, and misinformation, related to the impeachment of President Trump. The House received thousands of pages of deposition by interviewing 17 so-called witnesses, 12 of which testified in a public setting before the American people. Following the House of Representatives vote to pass two Articles of Impeachment against President Trump, the Senate has listened to the House managers and the President’s defense team present their case.

It is time for the Senate to reject consideration of new witnesses or documents and vote on whether acquit and exonerate the President. Therefore, Senators should vote no on whether it shall be in order to consider and debate under the impeachment rules any motion to subpoena witnesses or documents.
