WalMart, the biggest private sector employer in the country, said Tuesday it would raise health insurance premiums for its 1.3 million workers beginning in January by 19 percent, and it will end health care coverage for about 30,000 part-time employees who work fewer than 30 hours a week. Companies with more than 50 employees will have to provide health care to employees who work more than 30 hours a week under the Affordable Care Act, starting in January. Target and Home Depot have announced similar benefit cuts, citing the ACA.”
