BREAKING: CfG Brings School Freedom to Tennessee
Washington, D.C. – David McIntosh, President of Club for Growth, issued the following statement in response to the passage of the Education Freedom Act in Tennessee.
“Today is a monumental victory for Tennessee families. We are proud to have worked closely with Gov. Lee to pass the Education Freedom Act, and we thank President Trump for his steadfast support of school freedom and this legislation. Students across the Volunteer State will now have access to the high-quality education they deserve—regardless of their zip code or socioeconomic background,” said Club for Growth President David McIntosh. “School freedom is the defining civil rights issue of our generation, and we remain committed to expanding it nationwide while holding so-called Republicans accountable when they stand in its way.”

- A TV ad
- A newspaper ad
- Activist phone calls
- Issue polling
- Club for Growth President David McIntosh authored an op-ed urging every Republican in the Tennessee State Legislature to vote in favor of the bill or lose an expensive primary challenge in their next election.
- In 2024, Club for Growth Action’s allied super PAC, School Freedom Fund, spent $3.6 million in Tennessee and defeated 4 anti-school choice Republicans in Tennessee’s State Legislative primaries.
- In 2024, Club for Growth Action and its allied School Freedom Fund defeated 10 anti-school choice Republican incumbents in the Texas State House primaries and runoffs. The groups combined to invest nearly $8.5 million and ran 36 unique television ads across 14 State House districts to ensure Governor Greg Abbott secured the votes needed to empower parents in their children’s education.
