BREAKING: Senate Democrats Finally Cave, President Trump and Republicans Win Shutdown Fight
Washington, D.C. – Club for Growth President David McIntosh issued the following statement after enough Senate Democrats came to their senses, caved against the wishes of the radicals in their party, and voted to reopen the government:
“After 40 days of theatrics that accomplished absolutely nothing, enough Senate Democrats finally decided to do their job and voted to end the Schumer Shutdown filibuster to begin the process to reopen the government,” said Club for Growth President David McIntosh. “This is a clear win for President Trump and Republicans on Capitol Hill. While Democratic ‘Leaders’ were held hostage by the same radical socialists that cost their party up and down the ballot in 2024, Republicans remained united and demonstrated they are the only party capable of delivering meaningful policy victories for the American people – even during a government shutdown. While I hope this serves as a wakeup call for Democrats to ignore the loudest members of their party with the worst ideas, we can only wait and see if Democrats will vote on January 30th to shut down the government again.”
