CfG Expands School Freedom In Missouri
Club for Growth President David McIntosh issued the following statement on the expansion of the MOScholars program included in the budget agreement passed Friday by Missouri lawmakers.
“School freedom is the civil rights issue of our generation, and we thank Gov. Kehoe for his leadership in putting students before systems,” said Club for Growth President David McIntosh. “More Missouri families will now be able to choose the school that’s best for their child, and we applaud the legislators who fought to prioritize parents in the budget process and deliver this major win for students in the Show Me State.”
Leading up to the vote, Club for Growth invested in a TV ad and grassroots advocacy campaign promoting school freedom. Club for Growth also joined 5 school choice partner organizations in sending a letter to the budget conference committee urging them to support MOScholars expansion.
Missouri now joins 7 other states — Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wyoming — that have passed or expanded school freedom this year after investment by Club for Growth.
