CfG President McIntosh: “Keeping the Top Rate is a Red-Line”

Washington, D.C. — Club for Growth President David McIntosh issued the following statement in response to numerous reports that Republicans are considering raising tax rates: 

“Club for Growth unequivocally opposes increasing taxes. In 2017, Club for Growth fought alongside President Trump to cut the Obama-era top individual marginal tax rate from 39.6% to 37%. Keeping the top rate at 37% is a red-line and Club for Growth will issue a key-vote alert to Members of Congress opposed to any legislation that attempts to increase the top individual marginal tax rate by any amount,” — David McIntosh, President, Club for Growth.
