CfG President McIntosh Statement on President Trump’s Department of Education EO

Washington, D.C. — Club for Growth President David McIntosh issued the following statement on President Trump’s Executive Order on the Department of Education:

“Club for Growth has long advocated for abolishing the Department of Education. School freedom is essential for children to obtain high-quality K-12 education and to create competition among schools. On behalf of over 500,000 members, we commend President Trump on this Executive Order directing Secretary McMahon to take all necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Department of Education. Next, Congress must take steps to abolish the Department and return educational freedom to parents and students in the States through block grants. Club for Growth is working with Rep.
