Club for Growth Action has released a new television advertisement, “Nickname,” highlighting Dan McCready’s support for environmental rules that raised the utility bills for North Carolina families while he made big profits. The ad also mentions the thousands of dollars in campaign cash that McCready has accepted from eco-extremist groups that support the Green New Deal which could cost households $65,000 per year.
“Dan McCready has already shown that he’s willing to line his pockets at the expense of higher energy costs for North Carolina families, and should he get to Congress we should expect he’ll do the same for his campaign funders,” said Club for Growth Action President David McIntosh. “Dan Bishop is a principled conservative who will fight for North Carolina jobs while McCready is only focused in imposing his radical environmentalist agenda on the state while his company and other radical environmentalists profit.“
McCready will face North Carolina State Senator Dan Bishop in a September 10 special election for the state’s 9th Congressional District’s seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Club for Growth PAC endorsed Bishop in April during the primary. In July, Club for Growth Action launched an earlier ad on McCready highlighting Dan McCready’s cronyism and the fact that North Carolina families could be on the hook for $149 million per year in higher energy costs that benefit McCready’s company.
