Club for Growth PAC Encourages Mark Green to Run for Senate

Today, upon news reports that Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) would not be seeking reelection to the United States Senate, Club for Growth President David McIntosh issued the following statement encouraging Congressman-elect Mark Green (TN-07) to run for the open Senate seat in 2020:

“Club for Growth PAC was one of the first national groups to endorse Mark Green in his campaign for Congress,” stated Club for Growth President David McIntosh.

“Mark Green is a rising star in Tennessee politics.  As a state senator, Mark distinguished himself as an outspoken economic conservative, and he overwhelmingly won his election to Congress this past November.  Club for Growth PAC is certain Congressman-elect Mark Green will continue to fight for fiscal discipline in the new Congress, and that’s why Club for Growth PAC encourages him to run for Senate in 2020.  The Senate needs more fiscal conservatives like Mark Green.  He would be a tremendous addition to the Senate, and Club for Growth PAC would welcome his candidacy.”
