Club for Growth President David McIntosh Issues Statement on House Passage of the Limit, Save, and Grow Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Club for Growth President David McIntosh issued the following statement on the House successfully passing the Limit, Save, and Grow Act.

“House passage of the debt limit increase is evidence that Republicans have a fiscally responsible plan to deal with the debt and the votes to pass it. President Biden and Democrats’ position calling for a ‘clean’ debt limit increase is irresponsible and is not tenable. A so-called ‘clean’ debt limit increase will exacerbate the fiscal crisis, so it’s time for Biden to do the right thing and sit down with Republicans and negotiate a debt ceiling increase.” – David McIntosh, President, Club for Growth.

According to recent polling by Club for Growth:

  • 53% of Americans believe Biden should negotiate with Congress to raise the debt ceiling, only 29% say Biden should not negotiate.
  • 75% of Americans believe Federal Government spending is too high, only 4% believe it is too low.
  • 74% of Americans believe Federal spending should return to pre-pandemic levels, only 16% disagree.
