CLUB FOR GROWTH STATEMENT ON DEFENSE PRODUCTION ACT & CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Club for Growth issued the following statement on the Defense Production Act and the Federal Government’s response to the Coronavirus.

“Although the Defense Production Act has been invoked on testing kits, we applaud President Trump continuing to reject calls from the left to require private sector businesses to produce certain medical supplies, and instead allow the free market to respond,” said Club for Growth President David McIntosh. “It is imperative that U.S. companies continue working closely with the Trump Administration to meet the needs of medical supplies. The best way to enable a faster and stronger economic recovery is to reject mandates and requirements on private sector businesses while trumpeting economic freedom by removing interference in free markets, deregulating costly burdens on job creators, and decreasing taxation.”
