WASHINGTON, D.C. – Club for Growth President David McIntosh issued the following statement in response to the Trump Administration utilizing loans instead of free cash in the proposed Coronavirus rescue plan.

“President Trump has proposed a responsible plan to provide assistance to struggling industry by offering loans instead of blindly handing over billions in taxpayer dollars in government grants,” said David McIntosh, President of Club for Growth. “Earlier this week, Club for Growth issued a series of policy options and recommendation, and the first said that any financial rescue of industry should be in the form of a government loan, even if the interest is zero, and not as a grant or bailout. We call on Congress to follow President Trump’s lead when assembling the next phase of the federal government’s response to the coronavirus crisis.”
