Club for Growth To McConnell: Stand Up Against Corporate Welfare And Block Hochberg Nomination
Washington, DC – The Club for Growth issued the following statement today in response to news that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) will schedule a vote on Fred Hochberg’s nomination to run the Export-Import Bank as early as next week. The Club for Growth opposes Hochberg’s nomination:
“If Senator McConnell cares about stopping an egregious example of corporate welfare, then he’ll stand up to President Obama and block Fred Hochberg’s nomination to run the Export-Import Bank,” said Club for Growth President Chris Chocola. “Senator McConnell can rally Republicans to block this nomination if he wants to, but so far he has refused. If Senator McConnell wants to fight for free-market policies then he will demand a true path to ending export subsidies once and for all in exchange for allowing a vote on Fred Hochberg.”
