Key Vote Alert – “NO” ON CLOTURE FOR THE EMERGENCY NATIONAL SECURITY SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS ACT, 2024
The Club for Growth urges all Senators to vote NO on invoking cloture for the Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2024. The results of this vote will be included in the Club for Growth Foundation’s 2024 congressional scorecard.
Lawmakers remain addicted to reckless fiscal policy that will march the country closer to a debt crisis, and this emergency supplemental package would prolong this addiction by borrowing and spending an additional $118.3 billion with no offsets. The Club for Growth urges Senators to stage an intervention by voting against the invocation of cloture for the Emergency National Security Supplemental Appropriations Act and beginning the long and necessary task of righting this country’s fiscal ship.
America’s debt now stands at $34.2 trillion. The annual cost of servicing this unsustainable burden exceeds $1 trillion. Inflation remains elevated above the Federal Reserve’s target of 2 percent regardless of which measure is used. Excessive spending and debt have left American workers with significantly lower levels of weekly earnings since President Biden was sworn into office.
Club for Growth Foundation’s Congressional Scorecard for the 118th Congress provides a comprehensive rating of how well or how poorly each member of Congress supports pro-growth, free-market policies and will be distributed to the public.
