Statement on Topline Spending Cap for Discretionary Appropriations

  |

Club for Growth President David McIntosh issued the following statement on the topline spending cap for discretionary appropriations:

“The Fiscal Responsibility Act (FRA) was sold to members as a true cap on wasteful government spending. While conservatives have rightly fought to lower spending levels below this insufficient cap, at the very least Congress must keep discretionary spending at the level set in the FRA. This means scrapping the tens of billions in budget gimmicks and spending not subject to the caps agreed to in the FRA. Club for Growth stands with conservatives working to pass appropriations bills that stick to the $1.59 trillion spending cap set in the FRA.”
