Will Mitch McConnell Stand With New York Times Editorial Board Or Fiscal Conservatives?
Washington, DC – The Club for Growth issued the following statement today in response to an editorial in the New York Times that calls on Senators not to block the nomination of Fred Hochberg to head the Export-Import bank:
“For Mitch McConnell, the choice is clear: he can stand with the left-wing editorial board of the New York Times and allow a vote on Fred Hochberg’s nomination, or he can stand with fiscal conservatives and block one of the most egregious examples of corporate welfare in this country today,” said Club for Growth President Chris Chocola. “Republicans should use every tool in their arsenal to block anti-growth policy, and preventing the Export-Import Bank from making loans is an excellent way to draw attention to President Obama’s promise to put export subsidies on a path to elimination.”
