BREAKING: School Freedom Fund Announces Multi-Million Dollar Investment in TN State Level Races
Washington, D.C. – Club for Growth Action’s allied School Freedom Fund has launched a $3.6 million campaign in Tennessee, targeting 2 State Senate and 3 State House seats, to bring school choice to the Volunteer State. This announcement comes after Club for Growth Action and School Freedom Fund defeated 10 incumbent Republicans in the Texas State House who blocked Governor Greg Abbott’s education freedom legislation. Vivian Jones of The Tennessean published an on the announcement.
“You can no longer call yourself a conservative if you oppose school freedom, and you should expect a very expensive primary that you’ll probably lose. Following the recent failure of bold school freedom legislation in Tennessee because of Republican opposition, School Freedom Fund is making a major investment in five races. This is the beginning of a school freedom movement putting parents – not bureaucrats – in control of their children’s education. We are looking to replicate our results in the Texas primary where we defeated 10 anti-school freedom incumbents.” – David McIntosh, President, School Freedom Fund.
Races targeted by School Freedom Fund:
- TN-SD-02: Oppose Bryan Richey, who voted against Gov. Bill Lee’s education freedom bill in the House Committee. Richey is now running for higher office.
