CfG PAC Congratulates Van Epps on TN-07 Primary Victory
Washington, D.C. – Club for Growth PAC congratulates West Point graduate and Lieutenant Colonel in the Tennessee Army National Guard Matt Van Epps on his victory in Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District Republican Primary. Club for Growth PAC and President Donald J. Trump both endorsed Van Epps in the race. On the eve of the primary, Club for Growth PAC hosted a Tele-Rally in support of Van Epps featuring President Donald J. Trump, which was attended by nearly 10,000 Tennessee voters.
“Matt Van Epps is a proven fighter who served multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan to protect America’s hard-earned freedoms. Now, he’s ready to fight for Tennesseans on Capitol Hill,” said Club for Growth PAC President David McIntosh. “Van Epps is the only candidate committed to working with the White House to deliver results for the district. Club for Growth PAC is proud to have endorsed Matt Van Epps in this race, and we look forward to him winning the general election in December.”
Throughout the primary, Club for Growth PAC’s affiliated School Freedom Fund invested nearly $1 million in the race, releasing numerous ads on key issues. Three ads targeted Republican candidate and state legislator Jody Barrett, who had opposed Governor Lee’s Education Freedom Act and is a staunch opponent of President Trump’s school freedom agenda.
During the 2024 election cycle, School Freedom Fund invested $3.6 million in Tennessee and defeated four anti-school freedom Republicans in state legislative primaries. Club for Growth also invested six figures urging lawmakers to support Governor Lee’s Education Freedom Act ahead of the bill’s final passage earlier this year.
