CfG PAC Endorses Matt Van Epps in TN-07

Washington, D.C. – Club for Growth PAC endorsed West Point graduate and combat veteran Matt Van Epps in the special election for Tennessee’s 7^th Congressional District. Van Epps is running to replace former Rep. Mark Green, who retired in the middle of the 119^th Congress. President Donald Trump has also endorsed Van Epps in the race.

In addition to the endorsement, Club for Growth PAC’s affiliated School Freedom Fund released a new ad highlighting President Trump’s endorsement of Van Epps in Tennessee’s 7^th District. This is the latest ad in School Freedom Fund’s existing buy and the 4^th from the group in the race.

“Matt Van Epps is a proven conservative fighter who will tirelessly defend Tennesseans in Congress. Van Epps is the only candidate who is committed to working with the White House to deliver results for the district,” said Club for Growth PAC President David McIntosh. “Club for Growth PAC is proud to join President Trump in endorsing Van Epps, and we are committed to ensuring as many voters as possible know about this endorsement before polls open on Tuesday.”

Prior to endorsing Van Epps, Club for Growth PAC’s affiliated Super PAC School Freedom Fund released 3 ads targeting Jody Barrett over his opposition to Governor Bill Lee’s Education Freedom Act, even after President Trump endorsed the legislation. School Freedom Fund also informed voters of previous comments made by Barrett, where he calls Donald Trump a ‘liberal douchebag.’

During the 2024 election cycle, School Freedom Fund invested $3.6 million and defeated four anti-school freedom Republicans in the Tennessee State Legislative primaries. Club for Growth also invested six figures urging lawmakers to support Governor Lee’s Education Freedom Act ahead of the bill’s final passage earlier this year.
