CfG President McIntosh Statement on TX House School Freedom Bill

Washington, D.C. — Club for Growth President David McIntosh issued the following statement on Texas House Bill 3, the State’s universal school freedom legislation:

“In 2024, Texans overwhelmingly backed candidates who promoted bold legislation that gives parents a say in their children’s education — and Texas HB 3 delivers on those promises,” said Club for Growth President David McIntosh. “Every legislator in Austin must support this bill and prioritize the needs of students over the whims of radical education bureaucrats.”

Club for Growth is engaging in a 7-figure advocacy campaign in Texas urging lawmakers to support school freedom. The efforts include statewide TV, print, digital, and radio ads along with grassroots efforts to mobilize voters in 29 districts represented by Republicans to contact their representatives.

During the 2024 election cycle, Club for Growth Action and its affiliated School Freedom Fund invested nearly $8.5 million and defeated 10 incumbent State House Republicans who opposed Governor Abbott’s school freedom legislation.
