Groups plan to spend more than $10m combined “to help ensure victory”
Following West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey’s gubernatorial announcement, Black Bear PAC and the national conservative powerhouse Club for Growth PAC, announced their endorsement of Morrisey in the race for the Republican nomination for Governor. This comes just a few weeks after Black Bear PAC released polling showing Morrisey to be the clear favorite to win the nomination.
David McIntosh, President of the Club for Growth PAC, said, “We are excited that a pro-growth conservative fighter like Attorney General Morrisey has gotten into the race for Governor of West Virginia. While other candidates may talk the talk, Morrisey has spent his entire career fighting for limited government, lower taxes and less spending. As Attorney General of West Virginia, no one has fought harder in the courts to stand up to Biden’s disastrous leftwing policies that are crushing West Virginians. Club for Growth Action is eager to work with Black Bear PAC to elect Morrisey, and together, we expect to spend upwards of well over $10 million to help ensure his victory.”
“Black Bear PAC is thrilled that Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has entered the race to be the next Governor of West Virginia,” said Scott Will, Senior Advisor to Black Bear PAC. “Attorney General Morrisey has a proven record as a conservative fighter for the people of West Virginia and we’re confident that he is the right man for the job. Together, Black Bear PAC and the Club for Growth Action, have already raised $5 million to support Morrisey’s campaign. We will do everything in our power to ensure that Patrick Morrisey is the next Governor of West Virginia.”
