ICYMI: McIntosh Discusses Midterms on Fox Business
Washington, D.C. – Club for Growth Action President David McIntosh joined Fox Business’ Varney & Co. to discuss the midterm elections, the Democrat candidates and policies, and Club for Growth Action’s work.
“What we’re seeing around the country is Democrats are nominating far left individuals. It’s not just Graham Platner up in Maine,” said McIntosh in the interview. “Their radical socialist agenda and their really far out of the mainstream candidates are going to give Republicans what they need to win this midterm.”

INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT:
VARNEY: The midterms are right around the corner, yes they are, and later today, the Club for Growth (Action) is releasing its report on key races. The President there of is David McIntosh, and he joins us now for the preview. Okay, your PAC’s spending what, $175 million on this cycle? Which races do you think are most important? I imagine that Ken Paxton in Texas is standout important?
MCINTOSH: Ken is going to run a great race. He’s up against one of these weird, far left Democrats, James Talarico, who is a woke weirdo. I think Talarico is going to do worse than Colin Alred, the guy they put up last cycle. What we’re seeing around the country is Democrats are nominating far left individuals. It’s not just Graham Platner up in Maine, who is the Nazi tattoo wearer. But you see Talarico in Texas. You see, they’re about to nominate Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan who is a total socialist and a pro-Palestinian Democrat. I think you’re going to see Republicans win these midterms in two ways. One, we’re going to campaign on the great record they have of helping Americans. Cutting taxes, more take home pay, no taxes on tips, closing the border so that Americans will be able to be safe in their communities, protecting children from the radical woke agenda about trans surgeries, and protecting kids in their schools where they can have school freedom. You contrast that Republican agenda with the Democrat radical agenda. They want to raise taxes on just about everything. They want to open the border. They want to bring back the government funding of these trans surgeries. One after the other, their radical socialist agenda and their really far out of the mainstream candidates are going to give Republicans what they need to win this midterm.
VARNEY: What’d you think of the performance of Steve Hilton in the gubernatorial race in California? At the moment, he’s leading and could well be one of the two candidates that go through to the runoff. That’s a pretty good result from him so far, right?
MCINTOSH: Yes, it was. Steve’s run a great campaign. For the first time in a generation, Republicans have a chance of winning the Governorship there, and Spencer Pratt down in Los Angeles. People in California are sick of the Democrats ruining their State. Making sure they help homeless illegal immigrants over people who need assistance. Letting their houses burn in Los Angeles. And I think you’re going to see Republicans be very competitive there for the first time. It’s a tough road up, but Californians are waking up that they can’t have that radical socialism and be able to survive as a State.
