New CFG Action Ad – Former Orange County TX GOP Chair Slams Phelan

Washington, D.C. – Club for Growth Action released a new ad targeting Speaker Dade Phelan in the Texas State House District 21 runoff election. The ad features Lydia Damrel, the former Chair of the Orange County Texas Republican Party, as she offers her insights into Phelan’s background and why Texas voters should not trust him.  This is the latest spot in Club for Growth Action’s existing $4 million buy targeting incumbent Republicans who failed to support school freedom in Texas.

Lydia Damrel: Dade Phelan is from a very wealthy, well-known family.

Damrel: He has a very spoiled, rich kid. Entitlement attitude.

Damrel: Showing up on the job…

Phelan: *Slurring his words while allegedly intoxicated on the floor of the Texas State House*

Damrel: It angered a lot of people. The votes they are taking are affecting people’s lives.

Damrel: They put their trust in you, and you take it so lightly.
