  |

Washington, D.C. – Club for Growth Action has released the first ad, from any candidate or outside group, in the NC-06 Republican primary hitting Mark Walker as a failed career politician who missed nearly 30% of votes during his previous tenure in Congress. The ad is a part of a six-figure ad buy airing district wide on Fox News cable and satellite through the March 5th primary election. Danielle Battaglia from The News and Observer’s Under the Dome Newsletter wrote an exclusive report covering the ad.

AD TRANSCRIPT:

Mark Walker’s desperate.

Left Congress to run for Senate, rejected.

Ran for Governor, rejected.

Now Walker’s begging for his old job back. The job he didn’t do.

His last year in Congress, Walker skipped nearly 30% of votes.

Votes that mattered: budgets, taxes, national security, veterans’ care.

Welfare Walker wasn’t there.

Wants our money, hates to work.

A panhandler in pinstripes.

AD WATCH: CLUB FOR GROWTH

An influential conservative super PAC launched an attack ad against former U.S. Rep. Mark Walker and his campaign for North Carolina’s 6th Congressional District. It accuses him of leaving his constituents to unsuccessfully run for governor and Senate, and then “begging for his job back” after missing nearly 30% of votes his last year in Congress.

Club for Growth Action launched the nearly $370,000 ad campaign against Walker that will run through the election on satellite and Fox News cable. Those in the Triad-based district will hear accusations like “Mark Walker’s desperate” and that he is a “panhandler in pinstripes.”

Club for Growth Action came out on Monday in support of Walker’s opponent Bo Hines, a former football star at N.C. State, who left the team to study politics at Yale University. The organization has been known to pump millions of dollars into North Carolina’s elections and helped lead Sen. Ted Budd to a victory in 2022.

There are six candidates running in the Republican primary for the 6th district. The primary’s winner will take the seat, as no Democrats are running.
