Washington, D.C. – Club for Growth Action defeated 3 RINOs in the Texas House runoff after beating 7 anti-school freedom incumbent Republicans in the primary. In the primary and runoff, Club for Growth Action and School Freedom Fund aired a total of 36 television ads.

Club for Growth Action affiliated School Freedom Fund spent nearly $4 million on the primaries, and Club for Growth Action spent over $4.4 million on the runoffs where the group defeated incumbents in the following districts: TX-HD-33, TX-HD-44, TX-HD-58.

Club for Growth Action and School Freedom Fund targeted a total of 14 anti-school choice incumbent Republicans and defeated 10 – a 71.4% win rate against incumbents.

“The message from these primaries and runoffs should be crystal clear – if you call yourself conservative and oppose school freedom, retire or expect to lose your next primary. The 10 so-called Republicans who failed to support school freedom, learned the hard way that their primary voters will not accept putting leftist bureaucrats above children,” said Club for Growth Action President David McIntosh. “This is a big win for parents in Texas and across the country who are tired of paying for failing and overly-politicized schools. The school freedom revolution is moving across the country as parents want education tax dollars to fund students not self-serving, bureaucratic systems. We are already looking at how to replicate these results in other states including Georgia, Tennessee, and elsewhere.”
