Club for Growth PAC Polling: Hightower In Strong Position To Win Alabama 1 Primary

Today, Club for Growth PAC released poll results that show conservative State Senator Bill Hightower is in a strong position to win the Republican primary in Alabama’s First Congressional District. The poll shows Hightower performs well on the ballot with more than one-third of the vote and more than twice the support of his nearest competitor. Hightower also has the highest name ID and highest favorability of any candidate in the race.

“Bill Hightower is well positioned to win the Republican primary in Alabama’s First Congressional District,” said Club for Growth PAC President David McIntosh. “We will likely make a decision on who we will endorse in the coming days.”

WPAi conducted a poll of n = 400 likely Republican primary election voters in Alabama CD 1. Interviews were conducted by live telephone interviews on July 23-24, 2019. The survey has a margin of error of +4.9%. Sample was selected from the Alabama voter file with the probability of selection being equal to the probability of voting in the primary election in WPAi’s turnout model for this race. Sample was stratified by age, gender, and geography to ensure accurate representation of the district.
